My Approach
My Approach
My swim lessons follow a steady progression, beginning with building trust in the water and progressing to floating and rolling over. One of my mentors, Coach Ed, told me many times, “Once the boat can float, then you can put a motor on it.” I stick by this rule: I teach foundational buoyancy before propulsion. This technique always benefits the swimmer once side breathing and flutter kicks are added.
My Background
Hi, I’m Coach Emma. Since 2017, I’ve been teaching swimming to all ages, from caregivers and their babies to coaching the swim team. I started coaching with the City of Tempe, then taught at Hubbard Family Swim School for five years, teaching every level they offered and eventually becoming a supervisor. Through it all, I have crafted a teaching style that blends fun and excellent swimming technique. Through word of mouth, my small swim business has not only retained clients but also grown year after year. I have 5+ years of lifeguard experience, and I am CPR certified. I am primarily booking with families in the Scottsdale area.
