About Me
Hello! I’m Emma Garcia, an instructional designer. My passion for instruction began as a teenager, when I taught swim lessons to adults and children. Helping people reach their goals by adapting lessons to their individual needs was incredibly exciting and motivating to me. Those early teaching experiences sparked a lasting interest in designing meaningful learning experiences.
Since then, I’ve continued working with learners in many settings, leading trainings, interning in classrooms, and designing e-learning experiences. Through these roles, I learned that effective learning experiences must be inclusive, intentional, and iterative. Studying instructional design, adult learning theory, and cognitive research has only deepened my admiration for how people learn.
My continued education has also shown me that instructional design involves much more than creating lessons or assessments. Analyzing learner needs, interpreting data, understanding organizational goals, and collaborating with subject-matter experts all play an important role in building effective learning solutions.
My love for learning carries into my personal life, too. I enjoy learning through my hobbies, making art, working out, playing piano, and playing volleyball. Each one reminds me that growth comes from curiosity, confidence, and consistency.
I’m always excited to collaborate, solve problems, and design learning experiences that genuinely help people succeed. Let’s work together!
